A fine morning was waiting on the porch of the two-story doll house that host David Athey had assigned to me and my man for the duration of our stay at the Round Top Inn. Sipping our coffee in side-by-side rocking chairs that looked out upon a greensward relieved here and there by hundred-year-old oak trees, we began the day more slowly than usual.

The Inn is fully booked for the Spring 2012 Show and will start accepting new reservations for the Fall 2012 Show on Wednesday, April 11 at 10am.

Faith Bybee’s legacy as a collector and saviour of Texas and Southern country furniture is well renowned.
The sale event, featuring 5 containers of antiques, will take place during the Spring 2012 Antique Fair in Round Top on the newly renovated and revived grounds of Henkel Square.
In addition to the larger items cataloged below, there will be 100′s of lots of quality smalls, accessories, dishes, etc. priced to sell.
Preview/Sale begins on Friday, March 30th and runs through Saturday, April 7th.
Opening day “early bird” shopping will start at 3 PM and go until 9 PM. Come enjoy food, libations and live music to celebrate the opening of the show.

Barbeque giant, Goode Company, is celebrating its 35th year of existence by launching The Goode Texas Tour. This social-media based contest will offer two lucky winners the chance to visit a Texas town…all expenses paid, and with Goode Company as your tour guide. Each travel package includes airfare, hotel, and a Texas-themed activity.
The tour just began on March 1. First up…Austin. Goode Company will bring in two guests to the city for South by Southwest. Guests will enjoy the food, music, festival events, and get to stay at the Mansion on Judge’s Hill.
And here’s the rest of the schedule: Fort Worth (April), San Antonio (June), Gruene (August), Round Top with over night accommodations at Round Top Inn (October), and Houston (November).
All participants have to do is “like” their Facebook page. This allows participants to enter the sweepstakes. From there, they just fill out a brief form with their name and email. A new set of winners is chosen every other month (until November).
